San Miguel Pale Pilsen
Posted: 12 March 2015  Beer Republic 4.0
San Miguel Lager from Thailand The cornerstone of San Miguel Brewery's fortune is this beer.  I don't know anyone who actually loves it. San Miguel Pale Pilsen is just one of those beers that's there, and you drink it when it is.
Avg price/liter: USD 3.17   ABV %: 5.0  Type: lager Thailand beer

San Miguel Brewery, the Philippines' largest brewer, with a presence in Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the motherland rakes in more than USD 200 million a year.  The cornerstone of that fortune is this beer.

It's funny.  In Thailand, this beer is sold in the upmarket local segment, costlier than German Purity Law crafted Federbrau.  It doesn't suck but it by no means warrants a price premium.

In the Philippines, the beer is like Budweiser in America and probably not crafted with much more care.

I don't know anyone who actually loves this beer.  San Miguel Pale Pilsen is just one of those beers that's there, and you drink it when it is.  When it's not there, you don't seek it out, and you never go through withdrawal symptoms.
