Evil Twin Brewing I Love You With My Stout
Posted: 8 May 2015  Beer Republic 7.0
Evil Twin I Love You With My Stout from USA The quote on this bottle deals with the metaphors of life.  "This stout is like a metaphor for freedom -- the sum of all the beauty that surrounds me and the my perfect contemporary existence."  Sounds deep, the kind of 'deep' zone you get to after drinking a bottle or two of this.  This beer is as strong as wine ... and tastes it! Drink on its own, and see how deep you can get.
Avg price/liter: USD 14.00   ABV %: 12.0  Type: Stout

My wife loves stouts.  Guinness might be her favorite alcoholic beverage. And yet, despite me having two bottles of Evil Twin's I Love You With My Stout, I didn't offer either bottle to my wife, but instead sipped one solo and shared the other one with a friend who admits he's no connoisseur of fine beer.  Why the hell would I do that?

Because I Love You With My Stout is an imperial stout.  Imperial stouts date back to the 18th century.  A London brewery exported its stouts to the court of Catherine II of Russia, and this court liked 'em strong, over 9% alcohol by volume.  I Love You With My Stout has 12%.  This beer is as strong as wine ... and tastes it!

My wife is an easy drunk.  A quarter of a bottle of this and I was worried she'd pass out at the dinner table.

Jeppe's quote on this bottle deals with the metaphors of life.  "This stout is like a metaphor for freedom -- the sum of all the beauty that surrounds me and the my perfect contemporary existence."  Sounds deep, the kind of 'deep' zone you get to after drinking a bottle or two of this.  Warning:  don't think you've discovered the meaning of life and publish it online to thousands of followers after a bottle of this.

I saw someone describe this as a dessert beer. I was thinking the same thing as  I poured it. It's a bit sweet and very rich. Leave out the cake and ice cream, drink on its own, and see how deep you can get.
