Evil Twin Brewing Molotov Cocktail

Evil Twin Brewing Molotov Cocktail from USA A molotov cocktail, otherwise known as a poor man's grenade, is an improvised incendiary weapon.  So Evil Twin Brewing naming an imperial India Pale Ale (IPA) Molotov Cocktail seems a strange choice.  At least Evil Twin admits that nothing will be hidden in this one, and they're right.  At 13% ABV, this is probably the strongest beer I've ever yet tried.   If you like your beer ultra high in alcohol with a little bit of beer flavor to back it up, Molotov Cocktail is for you.

A molotov cocktail, otherwise known as a poor man's grenade, is an improvised incendiary weapon.  Because they're cheap and easy to make, protesters and non-professional fighters use them in situations where they're likely to be outgunned by real armies.

So Evil Twin Brewing naming an imperial India Pale Ale (IPA) Molotov Cocktail seems a strange choice.  The blurb on the back of this bottle alludes to another brew of Evil Twin's with a high alcohol content.  "[In that brew], the alcohol was admirable [sic] well hidden, and you loved how the arrogant amounts of hops numbed your mouth.  This beer will knock your tongue off -- it's a tour de force in hoppiness and by far one of the craziest beers ever made by Evil Twin Brewing."

At least Evil Twin admits that nothing will be hidden in this one, and they're right.  At 13% ABV, this is probably the strongest beer I've ever yet tried.  The hops here is anything but hidden, but then again, is it ever in an IPA or Imperial IPA?

Molotov cocktails get used as an element of surprise in guerilla warfare.  They can knock your tongue (and your arms and legs) off   Molotov cocktails are anything but a 'tour de force.'  Lesson: don't take taster's notes or blurbs all that seriously.

A well brewed craft beer is, to me, one of character and balance. If you like your beer ultra high in alcohol with a little bit of beer flavor to back it up, Molotov Cocktail is for you.
