Gypsy Inc Pale Trail
Posted: 24 May 2015  Beer Republic 6.5
Gypsy Inc Pale Trail from Denmark Pale Trail is a hoppy pale ale brewed with three types of hops:  Citra, Simcoe, and Tettnanger. A decade ago I would have been saying what a great brew Pale Trail is.  Pale Trail hits all the right points.  But ten years is a long time.  A lot has changed.  If you're not looking for a tremendous taste bud challenge and want something that will 'do the job,' look no further.
Avg price/liter: USD 9.60   ABV %: 4.7  Type: Pale Ale

Pale Trail could probably be a euphemism for the well trodden tourist routes pale Brits make to Spain.  But it's not.  It's the name of another of the few beers currently put out by Gypsy Inc, a collective of breweries led by Mikkeller out of Denmark who preach the gypsy brewing ethos.

The funny thing is a decade ago I would have been saying what a great beer Pale Trail is.  Pale Trail hits all the right points.  But ten years is a long time.  A lot has changed.  And many breweries, Mikkeller included, have moved on from just making tasty and refreshing Pale Ales the tried and true way to adding everything from mustard seeds to pencil erasers and yesterday's pancake breakfast to a brew.

If you're not looking for a tremendous taste bud challenge and want something that will 'do the job,' look no further.  Gypsy Inc's Pale Trail is waiting for your pale face.
