Two Tales Brewing Bohemian Lager
Posted: 7 July 2015  Beer Republic 5.5
Two Tales Brewing Bohemian Lager from Czech Republic Two Tales likely found itself with its head sandwiched between its ass on this one.  On the one hand, they have to distinguish themselves from the competition by going where no brewer has gone before.  On the other, if they can't dish out the pale lager everyone expects, how will they ever get some brand name recognition?  Two Tales Brewing's Bohemian Lager isn't the brew to herald Two Tales has arrived.
Avg price/liter: USD 4.38   ABV %: 3.5  Type: Lager

The Czechs are revered the world over and under for brewing some of the planet's highest quality beers.  The pilsner lager was created here.  This puts a microbrewery like Two Tales Brewing in a tight spot when trying to create something new in a category the Czechs are already famous for.

Microbreweries, we hope, are there to brew the types of the beers the giants won't.  But what if the powers that be are already brewing them?

Two Tales likely found itself with its head sandwiched between its ass on this one.  On the one hand, they have to distinguish themselves from the competition by going where no brewer has gone before.  On the other, if they can't dish out the pale lager everyone expects, how will they ever get some brand name recognition?

Two Tales Brewing Bohemian Lager isn't the brew to herald Two Tales has arrived.  If a Martian showed up on Earth and asked what a great lager tasted like, I wouldn't be sending him to a bottle shop in Prague to pick up one of these for 55 Czech crowns a bottle.

Skimming the web site of a pub in Prague specializing in Czech microbrews,  I spot a half dozen Czech brand lagers I've never heard of.  Flipping a coin, you'll probably wind up in the Czech Republic with a better lager than Two Tales Brewing Bohemian Lager.
