Floris Fraise
Posted: 25 August 2015  Beer Republic 5.5
Floris Fraise from Belgium Floris Fraise (Strawberry) doesn't disappoint. To put this in familiar terms, think of this like a Hoegaarden but dominated by sweet but not overly sweet strawberry juice.  Fraise is probably your optimal way to get the manganese strawberries are so famous for.
Avg price/liter: USD 9.70   ABV %: 3.6  Type: Lambic-Fruit  Belgium

After sampling a few lambic fruit beers, I returned to the Floris brand with a newfound appreciation.   Lambics can be too much for some -- like my wife, for instance.  The sour cidery background taste in the lambic is not something she fully embraces.

No lambics for Floris.  These are Belgian wheat beers through and through made the Belgian way.

25% of any Floris beer is comprised of fruit juice -- so they say.  And Floris claims that they were the first, way back in 1993, to use Belgian wheat beer as a base.

Don't treat these as fine fruit concotions like rare wines. Instead, look at them as fruity alcoholic treats, more natural and tastier than a fruity wine cooler.

Floris Fraise (Strawberry) doesn't disappoint. To put this in familiar terms, think of this like a Hoegaarden but dominated by sweet but not overly sweet strawberry juice. If that sounds like something that would relax you, you can dump the strawberry cordial and pick up a six pack.  Fruli Strawberry, made by the same company, packs in more of a punch, but if only a light pounding is what you're after, Fraise is probably your optimal way to get the manganese strawberries are so famous for.
