Chapeau Framboise

Chapeau Framboise from Belgium The incorporation of the fruit into these lambic beers is well executed.  But trying this after I'd sampled St Louis Framboise, another raspberry lambic, informed me off the bat that there are better tasting and cheaper raspberry lambics out there.

The Chapeau brand from De Troch produces something I wouldn't be ashamed to drink with their Chapeau Framboise, a raspberry flavored lambic.

The incorporation of the fruit into these lambic beers is well executed.  The fruit doesn't taste artificial.  At the same time, they pack in the alcohol content of a light lager.  No real drinker wants non-alcoholic beer, do they?

If someone had never tasted a lambic before, then trying a Chapeau Framboise could be a good way to ease in to the style.  But the ultimate purpose of any beer is to savor it and enjoy it, whether it costs $1 a bottle or $10.  And trying this after I'd sampled St Louis Framboise, another raspberry lambic, informed me off the bat that there are better tasting and cheaper raspberry lambics out there.
