Birrificio L'Olmaia La 9
Posted: 27 August 2015  Beer Republic 6.5
L'Olmaia La 9 from Italy L'Olmaia's La 9 is a Belgian style ale.  Others call it an English pale ale. And yet it smells and tastes more like an India Pale Ale. Other web sites advise you to drink L'Olmaia La 9 with grilled meats and semi-matured cheeses.  First, locate a bottle.  Then decide what you'll have to drink with it

After my wife fell in love with Birradamare's Ambrata, I went a searching for other ambratas to deliver.  And what I found was a re-visit to a brewery I'd sampled months ago, Birrificio L'Olmaia and their La 9 pale ale.

Birradamare's Ambrata was a rich bodied lager.  L'Olmaia's La 9 is a Belgian style ale.  Others call it an English pale ale.

And yet it smells and tastes more like an India Pale Ale. About the only think it has in common with Birradamare's Ambrata is the amber color.

La 9 is manufactured in the region of Tuscany in Italy, most famous for being the locale of Florence and the Chianti wine region.  If you've never been to Tuscany, prepare to see a lot of tourists, pay inflated prices, and see a bunch of other microbrews from sale not even in Tuscany, most of them from Germany.

Other web sites advise you to drink L'Olmaia La 9 with grilled meats and semi-matured cheeses.  First, locate a bottle.  Then decide what you'll have to drink with it.

Ciao.
