Kerne Craft Sweet Cider
Posted: 8 October 2015  Beer Republic 8.0
Kerne Craft Sweet Cider from France Kerne's sweet cider isn't tremendously sweet but then their dry cider isn't tremendously dry. My wife wound up gifting an extra bottle of this succulent stuff to an executive chef whose love of ciders remains unknown. Somehow I doubt he'll appreciate it as much as we did.
Avg price/liter: USD 10.66   ABV %: 2.5  Type: Cider

Kerne's artisanal ciders proved themselves worthy of a second tasting after I and my wife devoured their delicious dry cider.

Kerne mixes around, in various proportions, over 20 different varieties of apples for its ciders in 4 different categories:  acidic, bitter, bittersweet, and sweet.  As each type of apple ferments to create different amounts of alcohol, Kerne has an eclectic mix to use to create its four signature ciders.

Kerne's sweet cider isn't tremendously sweet but then their dry cider isn't tremendously dry. My wife wound up gifting an extra bottle of this succulent stuff to an executive chef whose love of ciders remains unknown. Somehow I doubt he'll appreciate it as much as we did.

These ciders have a more natural, down-on-the-farm taste, incomparable to the Stassen and Possman ciders I'd started sipping earlier.  I can only pray Kerne stays on sale here forever!

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Does drinking French artisanal ciders grown from rich apples planted in the soils of Brittany, France keep doctors away, too?
