Coopers Sparkling Ale
Posted: 16 October 2015  Beer Republic 6.5
Coopers Sparkling Ale from Australia Coopers calls this the ale by which all other ales are measured.  Maybe that was the case in 1950. Today, Coopers Sparkling Ale is a the ale by which your wallet will go the furthest for the tastiest and most wholesome beer.
Avg price/liter: USD 7.74   ABV %: 5.8  Type: Pale Ale

Having spent a year in Australia, I can vouch that Coopers was probably the country's best mainstream brew you could always be reasonably sure of getting your hands on -- at least in 2006.  Boags and Cascade, now foreign owned by thought of as Australian by locals, aren't sure things.  At a big bottle shop, Boags and Cascade were as easy to find as a Budweiser.  Elsewhere, who knows?  But finding a Coopers was never in doubt.

Coopers' beers are more closely identified with the color of their label.  That's very convenient when two of their most popular beers are both pale ales.  The Sparkling Ale is the red label.

Coopers calls this the ale by which all other ales are measured.  Maybe that was the case in 1950.  Australia didn't have a very robust brewing scene in those days.

Today, Coopers Sparkling Ale is a the ale by which your wallet will go the furthest for the tastiest and most wholesome beer.  This is a brew which prides itself on the sediment still in the bottle.  Sediment in the bottle is a good thing -- if the beer you're drinking is live and real.

Pale Euro lager lovers who prefer multinational brands need not sip.
